Novo Nordisk Slashes Wegovy Price for Cash-Paying Patients

Novo Nordisk has launched NovoCare Pharmacy, a direct-to-patient delivery option for Wegovy13.

The price for cash-paying patients without insurance coverage has been reduced to $499 per month for all dose strengths of Wegovy, down from the previous list price of $1,34914.

This price reduction applies to all five dosage strengths of Wegovy:
0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.7 mg, and 2.4 mg12.

The offer is available for uninsured patients or those with commercial insurance that doesn't cover obesity medications34.

Patients can schedule home shipments of their Wegovy prescriptions through NovoCare Pharmacy, fulfilled by CenterWell Pharmacy3.

This move follows a similar action by Eli Lilly, which recently lowered prices for its weight-loss drug Zepbound25.

The price cut comes after the FDA declared the shortage of semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic) resolved36.
