B. Braun’s Florida IV Fluid Plant Resumes Operations After Minimal Damage from Hurricane Milton

Minimal Damage:
B. Braun's Daytona Beach IV solutions manufacturing site and distribution center were not seriously impacted by Hurricane Milton and have resumed operations.

Preparation Efforts:
The company had closed the facilities temporarily to protect employees and mitigate the storm's impact on IV fluid supplies. Inventory was moved to a secure, temperature-controlled facility north of Florida to safeguard finished products.

Supply Chain Impact:
The facility is crucial in addressing the shortage of IV fluids caused by the shutdown of Baxter’s IV solutions manufacturing facility in North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene.

Production Increase:
B. Braun is working with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to increase production of critical IV fluids at its Irvine, CA plant and will resume this plan at Daytona Beach following Hurricane Milton’s departure.

Conservation Efforts:
The company supports recommendations from healthcare organizations to conserve IV products to ensure patients have access to necessary IV therapies.
