Eli Lilly Invests $4.5 Billion in Groundbreaking Indiana Manufacturing and R&D Facility

Eli Lilly is investing $4.5 billion in a new manufacturing and research facility in Lebanon, Indiana, known as the Lilly Medicine Foundry.

Facility Purpose:
The site will combine research and manufacturing capabilities, enabling the company to scale up production of medicines for clinical trials and support its growing pipeline of investigational therapies.

Employment:
The facility is expected to employ approximately 400 new engineers, scientists, lab technicians, and operations personnel once fully operational.

Opening Date:
The Lilly Medicine Foundry is slated to open in late 2027.

This investment brings Eli Lilly's total investment in Lebanon, Indiana, to over $13 billion, including previous commitments for manufacturing sites and specific drug production.

Government Support:
The local government will provide infrastructure improvements and economic incentives to support the project.
