Novo, Gates, and Wellcome Join Forces with $300 Million Initiative to Tackle Global Infectious Diseases

1. Novo Holdings, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Wellcome Trust have announced a $300 million partnership to address global infectious disease threats.
2. The collaboration aims to accelerate the research and development of new treatments, vaccines, and diagnostics for infectious diseases, with a focus on pandemic preparedness and antimicrobial resistance.
3. The initiative will support the development of novel therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostics, as well as strengthening global health systems and improving access to healthcare in low- and middle-income countries.
4. The partnership will leverage the expertise and resources of all three organizations to address the urgent need for new solutions to combat infectious diseases and improve global health outcomes.
5. The $300 million investment will be spread over several years, with each organization contributing an equal share.
6. The initiative builds on previous collaborations between the three organizations, including the Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP) and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).
